Michael Quintanilla editor at the San Antonio Express news calls it stumping with style.
We call it keeping up with Sarah Palin. Campaign fashion needn’t cost $150K, but it can make you feel like a million.

Will election watches be the tipping point in a swing state? Jean Patterson’s got her eye on campaign fashion. In the October 9th edition of The Orlando Sentinel she features Election Watches along with lots of presidentially inspired soaps to keep things clean.
A personal favorite? The Obamica.

We’ve been following the stuff that the world uses to promote their candidates, but what about the candidate that uses the world to promote his candidacy? This week the Obama campaign has begun campaigning in video games. Working with Electronic Arts, the Obama Campaign’s purchased advertising space within a video game. The ad will be a part of the race track signage in BurnOut Paradise — a racing car game. I heard it first from GigaOM but now it’s been confirmed by the Obama team.

Thanks to Heidi Groschelle. She was quick to point out that the rumor mill that said voters who wear political t-shirts or buttons to the polls would be unable to vote was just that — a rumor mill. According to FirstCoastNews.com, it’s only the pollworkers and poll watchers that need to hide their true colors while in the polling place.
Still, with memories of 2004, it might be prudent to wear your watch (which can be discreetly hidden under your shirtsleeve) but leave any potentially risky t-shirts at home.

Just call them the Candidate’s Cookies.
In 2004, when we first launched election watches featuring George Bush and John Kerry we were on to something — counting watch sales as votes on our poll. Today, if you can build it you can count it.
And so after the yarmulkes, and the knee socks, here come the Candidates Cookies. At Goldman’s Bakery in Baltimore, the cookie sales are almost evenly split between Obama and McCain. Obama has a slight edge but maybe more Obama fans have sweet tooths?
Wanna taste for yourselves. Visit the Goldmans. Be sure to tell them that the watches sent you.

Vivian McInerny, at the The Oregonian knows a good collectors’ item when she sees one. There we are surrounded by Obama girls knee socks and bobbleheads.

Believe me, we thought long and hard about creating a Sarah Palin version of the Election Watch. We envisioned it as a Shiva-like thing with at least eight arms. Time constraints prohibit immortalizing her in timepiece before the election, but if you absolutely must have one then drop us a line and we’ll get out our #2 pencils.
PS. Stumbled across the photo at Firedoglake.com where they’re using the watch illustration for a very different sort of message.

Thanks to Senator Clinton who took the time to write a note thanking us for giving her a waving watch of her very own. It’s a collector’s item now, since we’ve sold out our Hillary stock. Wear it well, Hillary and special thanks to Norm Wu for working the watch up the chain of command.

My chuckle of the day came when a friend sent me these kipot (yarmulke) – the Jewish head covering emblazoned with each candidates name. She wrote me that “she thinks they’d go great with the watch”. Thanks, Mariann.
